This
is an introduction to illustration and painting approaches using oil paints
to obtain realistic and abstract effects in still lifes, landscapes, and
other subject matter applicable to the illustrator and fine art painter.
The application and techniques of oil paints to canvas panels and stretched
canvas will be explored. This includes brush techniques, mixing, preparation
of canvas to stretchers, manipulation of pigment with medium and care and
maintenance of materials. Special focus will be on painting approaches appropriate
to the assignments, the development of subject matter and finished artwork. |
