3.3.8 Nationally Recognized Exams

In accordance with MnSCU policy 3.35, http://www.mnscu.edu/board/policy/335.html, Alexandria Technical and Community College provides opportunities for admitted students to demonstrate college-level learning through nationally recognized exams such as:

Thomas Edison College Examination Program (TECEP)

Excelsior examinations

New York University Foreign Language Proficiency (NYUFLP)

*National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI)

DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST)

*Students must meet a 70% benchmark on an approved college-level NOCTI multiple-choice assessment to be eligible for the college credit recommendation report. Students meeting the benchmark would be able, upon request, to have the report reviewed by the appropriate faculty for possible awarding of elective credit in the following areas: advanced accounting, administrative assisting, computer networking fundamentals, computer repair technology, basic early childhood education and care and heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
