10th Grade Student Eligibility Requirements
The 10th grade option is only open to Minnesota public school students. In 2012, new legislation was passed that allows eligible 10th grade students to initially enroll in one Career and Technical Education (CTE) course through PSEO. In order to be eligible, a 10th grade student must have taken the 8th grade MCA reading test and have met the composite proficiency level of "meets or exceeds."
The student would also need to meet specific CTE course eligibility requirements and prerequisites set by the college. If the student earns a "C" or higher grade in this first course, she/he is eligible to take additional CTE courses.
A student who first enrolls under this provision while in 10th grade and wishes to enroll in general education courses as an 11th or 12th grade student must take the Accuplacer or ACT test and achieve the required scores prior to enrollment. Students still have four semesters of eligibility, two in the 11th grade and two in the 12th grade.
How to Apply
When your completed application packet is received, you will be contacted by the college to complete the process for acceptance into the PSEO program.
