The Professional Sales program is designed to prepare students for careers in retail sales, customer service positions, related merchandising, and professional sales. Professional Sales students complete courses in selling, retail management, mathematics, and computers. The student is provided the knowledge and training necessary to become an efficient salesperson within a business operation. The internship is the final phase of the program and permits the student to gain employment and training in a specialized position with an affiliating employer.

Persons interested in the Professional Sales program benefit by having previous work experience in customer service and sales related positions. High school courses in retailing, sales ability/techniques, bookkeeping, typing, speech and business math would be beneficial to an enrollee but are not required. To be successful, the prospective enrollee should enjoy working with people to solve problems, desire interesting and challenging work and seek responsibility.
