Message from the Dean

At the Fall Minnesota Development Conference, State Demographer Tom Gillaspy and State Economist Tom Stinson said, “High worker productivity gained through the development of a smarter workforce is a key to our future.” Furthermore, Tom and Tom outlined the Three R’s for economic success: Recruitment, Retention, and Retraining. These Three R’s are critical as we rapidly transition to a knowledge-based economy that requires a high performance workforce that is adaptable to changing technology and product demand. By developing a smarter workforce, where the quality of the worker is the key differentiator, we may gain our biggest competitive advantage into the future.
 

As the Dean of the Customized Training Center, I have the opportunity to work with a dedicated staff that is charged to provide access to training and education that will help you prepare yourself and your organization to develop your competitive advantage. The short catalog you are about to review reflects some of the services that the Customized Training Center at Alexandria Technical College can provide to enhance your personal and workforce productivity. Please note that 80% of the people working 10 years from now are currently working today……retraining is key!
