Quick Response Manufacturing
Description
A common misconception is that Quick Response Manufacturing is a replacement for your current Continuous Improvement initiative (Lean, Six Sigma, JIT, TOC, TQM, ect), when in all actuality QRM is an "expansion" of efforts you may have already begun. If you were to look for the "roots" of QRM, you would need to look no further than "Time-Based Costing"(TBC). QRM builds upon the tenets of TBC, focusing on expanding concepts into useful and applicable tools which optimize the use of speed in gaining competitive advantage. Quick Response Manufacturing is an effective method of continuous improvement that provides improvement opportunities for the entire organization, not just the shop floor. QRM provides the seven key principles for restructuring your organization to compete in speed.
