Welcome to the Intercultural Center!

The Intercultural Center is a place where students and staff from all cultural backgrounds can feel welcome. On weekdays from 10 am to 4 pm, we are open for students and staff to stop in for a moment, or to hang out for a while and use the computer and TV resources. Students may complete homework in the Intercultural Center, and they may use the space as a location for socializing.

Intercultural Services promotes appreciation of cultural and human diversity on our campus throughout the community.

Mission Statement:

Enhancing the formal educational processes of the college in preparing all ATCC students to function professionally and celebrates human diversity, global awareness and the human role for constructing better cross cultural communities.


The Intercultural Center is a welcoming and inclusive place committed to fostering collaboration and awareness of the intercultural history of our global society. The Center provides a forum for education and social exchange that encourages greater appreciation, consciousness and respect for the different cultural backgrounds represented by ATCC students, faculty, staff, and community of Alexandria.

The Intercultural Center provides resources such as magazines, newspapers, multilingual TV programming and news, books, videos, and bilingual journals. We will provide awareness of the U.S. and world communities.

The Intercultural Center demonstrates a commitment to making diversity and interculturalism important aspects of the Alexandria Technical & Community College. The Intercultural Center encourages students, faculty and staff to participate in campus intercultural activities.

The Intercultural Center provides our students from diverse backgrounds with high quality programming, facilitating educational activities and dialogs, and student leadership opportunities.
