Message from the Executive Director

Dear Friends,

Amy Allen, Executive Director, Alexandria Technical & Community College FoundationIt is always fun to talk about the Foundation and the role we play in the framework of the College. As the Executive Director of the fundraising arm of the college I want to say thanks for those of you who have made financial and in-kind contributions to assist us in making a difference as we work together to improve the quality of life for our students, regional employers and the communities we serve.

The Foundation's Board of Directors is made up of 18 energetic leaders committed to promoting lifelong learning, keeping the ATCC on the cutting edge and providing a trained workforce for our ever-evolving economy.

A few years ago President Kevin Kopischke stated the need for on-campus student housing and the Foundation Board of Directors decided to get involved and create a win-win-win solution. They engaged a professional consultant to help plan and implement a project that would benefit the students, college, community, and the Foundation. The result is an on-campus student housing facility that will improve student life, attract more students, involve community partners, and generate dollars annually to our scholarship program.

Because of the generosity of you as donors we were able to grant over $375,000 in scholarships last year. As the cost of higher education continues to increase, our scholarship program plays an even more significant role in the lives of our students. This past year the Board announced our new PAVING THE WAY campaign. We invite you to check out the links for information on how you can get involved.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to those who have already chosen to help us with our mission. We encourage others to join us in PAVING THE WAY by supporting our students, our college and the community in which we live.

Gratefully,
Amy Allen
Executive Director
