ATC Fashion Management Students, maurices, and Lakes Area Humane Society Partner for the Rescues and Runways Fashion Show

Alexandria Technical College Fashion Management Students recently partnered with maurices and the Lakes Area Humane Society to coordinate a "Rescues & Runways" Fashion Show that took place at the Viking Plaza Mall. ATC students served as models, assisted with the coordination of the show, and helped market the event.

"The fashion show was a great success with over one-hundred people in attendance enjoying the latest fall fashions and also gaining awareness of the need that exists in our own community for homeless animals. Last year, the lakes Area Humane Society cared for over 1800 animals. This was a great experience for our ATC students to apply their educational experiences by partnering with a leading retailer such as maurices to support a community event," said Fashion Management Instructor, Kristin Daby.

maurices launched Rescues & Runways nationwide to support local shelters and the animals they help. maurices is also selling a special charm to benefit ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®). The ASPCA will receive a minimum donation of $50,000 from maurices with an ultimate goal of raising more than $100,000.
