Students in the Communication Art and Design program at Alexandria Technical & Community College (ATCC) participate in the advertising industry's professional competition, ADDY® Awards, annually. The students from ATCC have taken the majority of awards in the student competitions for several years. Their results in 2012 were just as outstanding.

Thirty-three Alexandria Technical & Community College (ATCC) students competed in the 2012 State DECA competition in Mankato, MN February 21 – 23. Twenty-two students and five teams from ATCC were top eight finalists in their events. Of those, two individuals and two teams earned first place awards.
