ATC has established a partnership with Distance Minnesota, a consortium of colleges providing online programs and courses. Member colleges, together with a centralized office in Perham, MN, offer learners easy access to a college education online.

Distance Learning Success

College OnlineAlexandria College Online courses are college level and require the same level of commitment and learning as face-to-face college courses. Several factors that influence success with distance learning courses are:

  • Readiness
  • Time management
  • Study habits
  • Academic integrity
  • Computer access

A self-assessment test can help learners determine if their learning style is compatible with online learning. A self-assessment test is available at http://alt.usg.edu/sort/

Flextime

Flextime courses are self paced and are taught in an unstructured setting with no lecture involved, no specific time of day to attend, and no traditional classroom. Lab assistants are available during regular business hours. Students applying for financial aid must be registered before the end of the drop/add period each semester. Students who are enrolled in a diploma or certificate program will not receive financial aid for courses taken in Flextime.

To qualify for financial aid, students must check into their Flextime course and submit coursework within the first five (5) days of the class. Failure to do so may result in registration removal and/or a change in financial aid status.

Flextime classes are facilitated in the Information Commons located in room 302.
