• Computer & Voice Networking Associate in Applied Science Degree

  This program provides learning experiences on computers, local area networks, phone systems, routers, switches, and networking management packages. State-of-the-art classrooms and extensive hands-on activities solidify classroom learning. The student laptop computer will serve both as a workstation and a server for hands-on projects. The Computer and Voice Networking (CVN) instructors and curriculum are industry trained. In addition, students receive general education courses that have been recommended by our partners in industry who have helped the college design the program. This keeps the program current with industry requirements. Optional advanced certificate training in networking is available for AAS degree graduates. The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees range from 64 to 85 credits and include at least 18 semester credits of general education. Students must select courses from at least three goal areas of the MnTC.

• Industry Certification Opportunities

  Alexandria Technical College and the Computer and Voice Networking (CVN) program have developed partnerships with industry leaders including Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA and others. These partnerships allow the CVN program added benefits and specialized curriculum. CVN students receive training which prepares them to take optional industry certification exams. Upon successful completion these exams, students receive industry recognized certifications that enhance their employability. While these partnerships may change from one year to the next, CVN provides current training leading to solid career choices upon graduation.
