
Bemidji State University (BSU) and Alexandria Technical College (ATC) are partnering to offer courses required for students to earn an associate in arts (AA) degree from BSU in Alexandria. The AA degree is a generalist degree designed to satisfy liberal education requirements and prepare students for work on a bachelor’s degree in any field at virtually all universities across North America.
What are the benefits of this collaborative degree?
This partnership allows individuals in the workplace or students who choose to stay in the Alexandria area access to the most widely recognized undergraduate transfer degree available, the AA degree. Other benefits of the program include:
- Individualized advising by both an ATC and BSU Program advisor.
- Coursework offered by both institutions to provide flexibility in course scheduling.
- Mode of delivery includes face-to-face; online;, and guided, self-directed study course options.
The requirements of this degree include:
- 40 credit Minnesota Transfer Curriculum offered through Alexandria Technical College.
- 24 BSU general elective credits (22 required to meet residency)
- Completion of BSU’s Liberal Education Category 11: Performance and Participation (1 course, 1 or more credits)
