The Law Enforcement Career Transition program is designed for students who have been granted an Associates Degree or higher from an accredited college wishing to transition into the field of law enforcement. It contains both the academics and hands-on skills training required to meet the MN peace Officers Standards & Training licensing requirements. The entire program can be completed in as little as 26 weeks or over a longer period of time, dependent upon the individual student situation. The time to complete the program is determined by the student and the course delivery method chosen. The academic portion consists of 20 credits and the skills portion consists of 15 credits and is 10 weeks in length. The student can choose a style that best fits their individual needs. (On-site, Online, or Blended)
On-site: Spring Semester Academic coursework followed by summer skills training
Online: Various academic coursework offered during summer, spring and fall semesters followed by on-site summer skills training (First Responder required prior to taking MN POST Test)
Blended: Choice between online and/ on-site academics followed by on-site summer skills training.
