The Truck Driving program is 16 weeks long. It trains students to drive defensively while operating dump trucks and semi-tractor trailer combinations, both in close quarter maneuvering and city and highway application. People interested in truck driving must be able to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination, a pre-employment drug test, and must possess a valid driver’s license free of serious violations. Students can start in August or January. The Certificate programs require from 10 to 30 semester credits. Some certificates are at entry level and some are advanced certificates that require completion of another program or equivalent occupational experience. In programs where students have the option of earning either a diploma or a degree, the award choices are noted for each major.
