Karen Meuwissen Receives Recognition

Alexandria, MN - Alexandria Technical and Community College's Karen Meuwissen was awarded an Honorary Life Membership to Minnesota Collegiate DECA. Each year, one individual is given this recognition for showing exceptional dedication to vocational education and service to Minnesota Collegiate DECA. With more than 34 Schools and 1,500 student members in the state, it is quite an honor to receive this acknowledgment.
Karen has been involved with Minnesota Collegiate DECA for 12 years. In that time she has served as a Chapter Advisor, served multiple terms on the Board of Directors, has acted as Board Chair, and serves on the Technology and Policy and Procedure committees. She is also an event coordinator at the International Career Development Conference. A true advocate of the program, she promotes the organization within the community through various efforts and invests full-heartedly into helping her students succeed. Collegiate DECA has recognized Karen's dedication previously. In 2007, she was also awarded the Minnesota Chapter Advisor of the Year, and in 2011 she received the Outstanding Service Award.
Karen Meuwissen is an ATCC business and marketing faculty member. She provides exceptional instruction in and out of the classroom across multiple programs in the School of Business and Information Technology.
