The Fashion Management program is designed to prepare students for a successful career in the fashion industry. The Associate in Applied Science Degree emphasizes coursework in fashion merchandising, retail management, marketing, visual presentation, customer service, and more. The degree includes an internship where students can gain on-the-job experience. An important part of the Fashion Management Program is involvement through work experience, professional conferences, creative projects, and field trips.
Students may also double major in Fashion Management and Marketing & Sales Management. For other fashion education alternatives, see the Business Management AAS degree with fashion classes as electives or the option of pursuing a Fashion Management concentration within the Business Management degree.
Applicants for the Fashion Management program should have a strong interest in people, fashion, enjoy a fast pace and challenges. Previous work experience in a retail store is helpful prior to enrolling in the program. Persons interested in the Fashion Management program should understand that the two essential elements for a successful fashion/retail career are a willingness to develop leadership/management skills and flexibility in locating where career opportunities exist.
