Alexandria College is the first two-year college in Minnesota to offer competitive fishing!

During Fall semester, team members will compete against each other in a series of weekly tournaments on area lakes. The top teams will go on to represent Alexandria College at regional and national competitions.

Why fish at Alexandria College?

The lakes. Located in the central lakes region of Minnesota, you will have access to over 300 lakes within Douglas County. Dozens of them provide legendary fishing opportunities for bass, walleyes, muskies, northern pike and more. A few of the well-known lakes include: Alexandria Chain of Lakes, Miltona, Ida and Minnewaska.

What you'll need:
  • Current MN fishing license
  • Boat (or partner with a boat)
  • Gas, bait & tackle
  • Life jacket
  • Transportation to area lakes & regional tournaments
The college will provide:
  • Coach with years of fishing and guiding experience
  • Series of 6-8 fishing tournaments on area lakes
  • Sponsor and support travel to out-of-state tournaments
  • Sporting Storage - a secure place to store your boat and trailer (small fee)
