3.1.4 Children on Campus

Responsible Position

Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs

PROCEDURES

Children under the age of fourteen are welcome on campus at appropriate activities and college events under the supervision of an adult.

Our campus is intended to be devoted to the efficient and effective delivery of education and related services to students, parents, and members of the community. The presence of children, other family members, or friends not devoted to accomplishing these objectives may be disruptive and potentially unsafe.

Students and employees must make adequate arrangements for childcare. They must have alternative plans that can be used in the case of illness or unavailability of normal childcare. College employees should not be asked to supervise children. Exception should only be made in response to special circumstances for short periods of time and must be approved by the student’s instructor and Academic Affairs or the employee’s supervisor.
