Alexandria Technical & Community College partners with participating area high schools to offer concurrent enrollment courses. It provides high school students the opportunity to earn college credit by taking rigorous, college-level courses in their high school taught by credentialed teachers.
Student Eligibility
Cumulative high school GPA is the primary factor in determining eligibility. If GPA does not meet minimum requirements for grade level, students may provide documentation of Accuplacer, ACT, or MCA reading scores to determine eligibility. In addition, students must meet all course pre-requisites for the course(s) they plan to enroll in. Students should work with their high school to determine if they are qualified for the program. Once students have been identified by the high school, students will apply online, and their high school will submit their qualifying materials (transcripts).

Accuplacer
Accuplacer is a computerized placement test designed to provide information about a student’s reading and math skills. The test determines if students are prepared for college-level course work or if they would require developmental courses. Contact your high school counselor for Accuplacer testing dates and times if needed to determine concurrent enrollment eligibility.

Registration Process
Students who wish to participate in ATCC’s Concurrent Enrollment Program initially register for their classes through their normal high school registration process. High school counselors and ATCC concurrent enrollment staff work together to make sure students are then registered at the college.
During the registration process, high school counselors and the ATCC concurrent enrollment staff verify that students have met both the program eligibility and any required prerequisites for the courses they have registered for.

Transferring/College Transcript
Alexandria Technical & Community College is part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Systems. If you are transferring to another institution within the Minnesota State system, you do not need to request your transcript. All Minnesota
State schools can pull your transcript directly from ATCC at no cost.
If you are transferring to a private, out-of-state, or the University of Minnesota school, make your request to have a transcript sent by going to Request an ATCC Transcript. There is a fee to send an official transcript. However, unofficial transcripts are free
to access and are available on your eServices account.
Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy
It is ATCC’s policy that all students need to maintain satisfactory academic progress which is based on both cumulative percentage of credits completed (67%) and GPA (2.0). Students who fall below a 2.0
GPA and/or 67% completion will be placed on a warning status the following term of enrollment.
In an effort to avoid academic and financial aid suspension prior to high school graduation, all Post-Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO), Concurrent
Enrollment, and On-line College in the High School (OCHS) students placed on a warning status must submit an academic appeal for continued enrollment at ATCC while in any of these three statuses. An ATCC representative will review the appeal to ensure
the student can realistically and mathematically avoid suspension at the end of the following term of enrollment. Additionally, the appeal requires endorsement of the student, parent, and high school representative.
Upon approval of the
appeal, the student may remain on warning status for one term of enrollment. Any GPA deficiency must be corrected to the cumulative GPA of 2.0 and/or completion deficiency must be remedied to 66.67% completion, or the academic and financial aid suspension
will be applied at the end of the next term of enrollment. A suspension status may cause denied admission to a future college or denied financial aid at a future college. To review the full policy, please go to: alextech.edu/academic-satisfaction
Student Accommodations
A student enrolled in a college course may qualify for accommodations if they have a documented disability. If a student has a documented disability, they must request their accommodations through ATCC Support Services. Many accommodations available in high school courses are available in college courses, but there is a difference in how accommodations are granted: The student needs to self-identify and request accommodations from the college.
