Grant Participants Find Success at Alexandria Technical & Community College

Alexandria, MN – August 2019 – Alexandria Technical & Community College (ATCC) was among 12 community colleges across the country that participated in the Brighter Futures 3.0 initiative, which was funded through the League for Innovation in Community College. The grant began in 2016 and was the catalyst for the development of the Retail Management Certificate (RMC) at ATCC.

Since inception, ATCC worked with retail employers who were committed to the RMC as the credential for the advancement of their existing workforce. Of the 377 RMC graduates across the country, ATCC awarded 73 Retail Management Certificates to grant participants. All of the grant participants were incumbent workers from across the country.

Kris Daby, RMC faculty member at Alexandria Technical & Community College said, "this was a great team effort that provided outstanding results. ATCC is the first in Minnesota to offer this industry-endorsed certificate, and we continue to work on increasing awareness of the program."
