Applying for Admission

As part of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, ATCC is a public, open enrollment institution. ATCC has technical, career, and transfer degrees available in traditional and distance learning environments.


Start by completing an application. Upon receiving your application, you will be invited to come for a campus visit. Some programs require a campus visit in order to be accepted. If you are one of the following, please select your option for more information.


A copy of your high school transcript or GED is necessary. You may download a High School Transcript Request Form to send to your high school.

If you have received credits during or after high school from another college, you must have an official transcript mailed to ATCC. If you attended a MnSCU college or university, you may not need to request your transcript. Your transcript may automatically be available. To view which institutions are part of MnSCU, please visit You may use the College Transcript Request Form to request other college transcripts to be sent to ATCC.

Application Fee:

There is a $20 non-refundable application fee.

Additional Program Requirements:

These may be requested prior to your visit or will be discussed at the campus visit and vary by program.

Financial Aid:

Financial aid is intended to help students and their families pay for education. For more information see the Financial Aid Office.

Placement Testing:

Accuplacer is a basic skills assessment. Students are tested in the areas of writing, math, and reading. Students are not able to register until they have completed the assessment. For more information, visit the Testing Center. Students with specific previous college coursework or who have taken the ACT may not be required to take Accuplacer.
