If you've visited the ATCC campus in the evening, you've probably met Allison, Miranda, or Hannah. These three second-year Law Enforcement students work campus security, ensuring the safety of those on campus after normal business hours. With the majority of evening activities canceled or postponed, ATCC partnered with Alomere Health to enhance security efforts and direct traffic flow at the hospital.
Jesse (pictured above), a first-year Law Enforcement student, was fortunate to find employment in his field of study early on in his education. Employed as a security officer at Alomere Health, he's spent the majority of his days since the pandemic began standing guard at the hospital entrance.
Our campus security officers have joined forces with Jesse and the rest of the security team at Alomere to keep the community safe in this time of uncertainty, directing traffic and ensuring that appropriate safety measures are used by all.
"We're stopping cars as they drive up, and asking where people are headed. We have separate entrances for different things, for example we want to keep our cancer patients separated from anyone who may be sick," Jesse said. "It's been steady traffic every day."
Despite the chilly, unpredictable spring weather, all of these students still have smiles on their faces and are playing these essential roles with pride.
