The Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide course prepares students to give direct and supportive care as a nursing assistant in long-term care, in assisted living, and as a home health aide.
The 84-hour, 3-credit, state-approved course now has a part-time option.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be scheduled for the Minnesota NA/HHA certification exam, and if successful, students will receive certification. Once certified, the student’s name is placed on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry website, and they may use the title CNA, Certified Nursing Assistant. The course is open to students age 16 and up.
According to MN DEED, the median income for a Certified Nursing Assistant in Minnesota is $17.12 per hour. The Nursing Assistant profession is in the top 10 high demand jobs in Minnesota, projected to grow by 5.8% within the next 10 years.
