NJCAA Sport Opportunity Grant supports Legends Soccer

Alexandria Technical & Community College has earned a $2,000 Sport Opportunity Grant from the NJCAA Foundation to support the addition of its Legends Soccer program.
Alexandria College will have its inaugural Men’s and Women’s Soccer season this fall and is still recruiting for its first teams. The Legends Soccer program is headed by Coach Tom Roos. 

“With support from the NJCAA, Alexandria College will continue to expand its career and personal growth opportunities for students,” said Alexandria College President Michael Seymour. “The addition of athletics programs has created a renewed excitement for the College, and soccer has especially generated interest from a broad diversity of students.”

The NJCAA Sport Opportunity Grant is available for NJCAA member colleges to apply as they expand sport offerings at their institution while increasing student-athlete access and achievement. The grant is be awarded based on need and allotted funding.

“The NJCAA Foundation is excited to further support the growth of NJCAA member colleges and the sport programs they offer through the newly created NJCAA Sport Opportunity Grant,” said Brian Luckett, NJCAA Foundation Executive Director. “The ability to provide this funding for the first time ever is a testament to the importance and growth of two-year collegiate athletics. The NJCAA Foundation looks forward to this initiative’s impact as NJCAA member colleges continue to create opportunities for student-athletes across the country.”
 
Since 2018, the NJCAA Foundation, 501c3 non-profit organization, has funded scholarships, community programs, and national awards for the association's student-athletes, member colleges, and administrators.
