STEPS establishes their ranking by considering various factors such as study format and flexibility, affordability, a comprehensive curriculum, and proper accreditation. Alexandria College’s curriculum for its Pre-Social Work Transfer Pathway played a major role in gaining the recognition from STEPS.

“The curriculum provides the knowledge and skills that will allow students to succeed in future careers or in their advanced education. Coursework covers a wide variety of topics such as communication, ethics, psychology, social inequity, and more,” the STEPS website stated. “The Pre-Social Work Transfer Pathway AS at Alexandria Technical and Community College is designed for students wanting to complete their Associate of Science degree while obtaining course credits that will directly transfer into a bachelor's degree in Social Work at Minnesota State universities.”

Alexandria College was the only Minnesota institution on the list. This recognition is a testament to Alexandria College’s commitment placing the student first and the school’s holistic approach to student success.
