Polaris Inc. (Polaris), through The Polaris Foundation, donated $20,000 to the Alexandria Technical and Community College Foundation to support the Polaris Workforce Development Scholarship.

This scholarship will provide students enrolled in high-demand, technical and service-related programs, with educational funding to further their industry training.

The Workforce Development Scholarship was created by the Minnesota Legislature to allow colleges and universities to collaborate with business partners to attract students into high-demand, technical occupations. The scholarships provide students with the financial means to accomplish their goals while providing practical, hands-on work experience.

Alexandria College uses this program to work with business and industry leaders to build the pipelines needed for a well-trained, quality workforce. Polaris has been a valued partner to Alexandria College and continues to support student success through this scholarship opportunity.

“The Polaris Foundation has been supporting Alexandria’s Workforce Development Program for the past three years. As a leading Minnesota manufacturer, giving back to our local communities is a primary pillar of our Foundation. We are proud to support students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related fields and to help strengthen the local talent pipeline. Since the start of this partnership we have doubled our hiring of Alexandria graduates to Polaris dealers and our workforce,” said Dana Anderson, director, Community Relations, Polaris.

The Alexandria Technical and Community College Foundation secures matching funds amounting to 10% of the state scholarships each year through donations from industry partners. Each resulting Workforce Development scholarship is named after the industry partner who pledged the funds.
