Visible from Highway 29, the exhibit was on display from September 8 until September 12. It served as a powerful reminder of the tragic events that unfolded on September 11, 2001, and the resilience and unity that followed. Each flag stands in remembrance of a life lost on that fateful day.
The annual flag display is part of an annual effort by local organizations and volunteers to honor the memory of those who lost their lives and the first responders who bravely acted in the wake of the attacks. This year’s effort, with the participation of Alexandria College students, added a special touch, bringing together future law enforcement professionals with a community deeply connected to the ideals of service and duty.
