Thanks to the leadership of Jesse Hanish, Director of Sales and Customer Service at Lund Boats, Alexandria College's Powersports program received a 2025 Lund 1775 Adventure fully loaded with all the boat and trailer options, including a 115 Mercury outboard engine. Chad Rau from Johnson Outdoors donated top-tier equipment, including an onboard battery charger, a fish-locating graph, and a bow-mounted trolling motor.
The students took a class trip to tour the Lund plant, where they also took delivery of the boat. Throughout the fall semester, students worked on the Lund as part of a comprehensive class project providing valuable real-world experience. They conducted a pre-delivery inspection, installed the motor and all the electronics, and lake-tested the boat. They even performed performance tests using different propellers, making this partnership a prime example of hands-on, career-focused education.
“This collaboration provided an incredible learning opportunity for our students, preparing them for careers in the powersports and marine industries,” said Mike Pierskalla, Powersports program instructor. “It’s partnerships like these that set Alexandria College apart.”
The Lund 1775 Adventure Sport and trailer, valued at more than $36,000, with the addition of the Mercury 115hp Outboard and electronics, increase the total package value to around $55,000. The boat and accessories package is the grand prize in a raffle organized by the Alexandria Technical & Community College Foundation. Proceeds from the raffle will directly support and enhance the college’s athletic programs.
