Alexandria Technical & Community College is proud to celebrate the outstanding service of our Law Enforcement Club and program instructors, who were recently honored by the Marine Corps League, Department of Minnesota, for their contributions during the 2025 State Convention and Toys for Kids event held at VFW Post 936.
During the event, a critical issue arose when the Turnkey Corrections van unexpectedly broke down, putting the Saturday banquet and preparation efforts for the Toys for Kids program at risk. The Nordeast Detachment suddenly faced a significant challenge. That is when ATCC’s Law Enforcement Program stepped in without hesitation.
An ATCC instructor volunteered to assist with meal preparation at the Nordeast Canteen, helping transform what could have been a major setback into a success. The support turned into a multi‑hour effort that ensured the banquet remained on schedule and that preparations for the Toys for Kids program continued uninterrupted. The Marine Corps League shared that the dedication shown by ATCC students and instructors directly impacted the success of the entire convention.
In a letter of thanks, State Commandant George A. Dahlby expressed deep gratitude, noting that the program’s involvement “not only helped the Nordeast Canteen, but directly supported the Marines and Associate members of the Marine Corps League,” emphasizing that ATCC’s efforts “did not go unnoticed and were greatly appreciated.”
The Marine Corps League also presented the ATCC Law Enforcement Program with a Certificate of Appreciation, recognizing the club for its “meritorious, faithful, and devoted service” and for playing an invaluable role in the Toys for Kids preparation efforts.
This honor highlights the character, professionalism, and community‑minded spirit of our students and instructors, qualities that reflect the core values of both our college and the law enforcement profession.
We extend our congratulations to the ATCC Law Enforcement Club for this well‑deserved recognition, and we thank the Marine Corps League for acknowledging the hard work and dedication of our program.
Once a Marine, Always a Marine, and always proud to serve alongside our community partners.
