ATCC earned two Silver Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) at its District 3 & 5 conference. The awards recognized two distinct marketing efforts: the nostalgic What We Were Like in the '90s social media post and the innovative Legends Lager scholarship fundraiser, a community partnership with 22 Northmen Brewing Co.

Alexandria Technical & Community College's Marketing team recently claimed two Silver Medallion Awards at the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District 3 & 5 Conference in Madison, Wisconsin.

The awards recognized two marketing projects in two distinct judging categories: Social Media Post or Story Video and Wild Card.

The social media post awarded was What We Were Like in the '90s, a Facebook and Instagram video reel created at the start of ATCC's 65th anniversary year. The post used archival photos from the college's historical collection, and invited alumni, former employees, and community members to engage with personally meaningful content and share stories from their time at ATCC. The nostalgic look back generated strong engagement and sparked conversations among generations of ATCC graduates and supporters.

The second Silver Medallion recognized ATCC's Legends Lager campaign, a partnership between the college and local brewery 22 Northmen Brewing Co. Developed in collaboration with the ATCC Foundation, the project paired a custom-crafted Vienna lager with a new scholarship fundraising initiative.

Featuring custom ATCC Legends artwork, the Legends Lager can showcases a bold design with a black background accented by the Legends athletic brand's red-and-silver helmet and typography inspired by historic Viking runes, paying homage to Alexandria's heritage.

More than a marketing campaign, the initiative reflected ATCC's commitment to community engagement and creative partnerships. By bringing together the college, a local business, alumni, and community members, the project created an innovative way to support students through scholarships. For every pour and four-pack sold, 22 Northmen Brewing Co. donated $1 to the ATCC Foundation Scholarship Fund, helping turn a local collaboration into a lasting investment in student success.

Nichole Aber, Director of Marketing & Communications, attended the NCMPR district conference to accept the awards. "These projects were very different, but they both had the same end goal in mind,” Aber said. “Our strategic framework is the compass for all the work we do, and these projects are a great example of that. We focused on community, connection, and finding new and innovative ways to support our students. We're grateful to see that work recognized."
