PROCEDURES

Building Hours

Alexandria Technical and Community College buildings have designated hours during which exterior doors are locked or unlocked. However, the buildings themselves remain open until the latest time listed for any of the doors. This means that even if a specific entrance is locked, the building is still accessible through another unlocked door during open hours. 

Hours for buildings and services not listed in this procedure may vary. Please check individual department webpages or contact the department for service hours. 

Hours may change for breaks (e.g., spring break, fall break, etc.), special events, holidays, or inclement weather. 

Students and members of the public cannot be in any of the campus buildings when they are closed. 

Student spaces open when campus buildings are open:

Fall & Spring Semester Building Hours

Main Building (Door C) & 700 Building/Law Enforcement Center (Door J)

  • Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM – 9:30 PM
  • Friday, 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM

700 Building/Law Enforcement Center (Door L)

  • Monday-Friday, 5:45 AM – 6:00 PM

Summer Semester Building Hours

Main Building (Door C) & 700 Building/Law Enforcement Center (Door J)

  • Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Friday, 6:00 AM – 5:00 PM

700 Building/Law Enforcement Center (Door L)

  • Monday-Friday, 5:45 AM – 6:00 PM

Service Hours

Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) will maintain service hours year-round. During the academic year, all full-time staff (not including faculty) will be scheduled a 40-hour, five-day work week. During the summer, supervisors may approve alternative schedules in coordination with employees, provided the department service hours are maintained. Individual work schedules may vary from posted service hours with supervisor approval; however, staff must comply with bargaining unit contracts and other agreed upon conditions of employment.

On-Campus Service Hours

  • Weekdays: 8:00am to 4:30pm
  • Extended hours (Monday-Thursday: 8:00 AM-6:00 PM) available for these offices the first week of Fall semester.

Any exceptions to college building and service hours must be approved by the College President.
