An advisory committee is a formally organized committee that provides expert advice and assistance to ATCC programs.

Advisory committees are an integral part of the instructional program at Alexandria Technical and Community College. Some programs with natural affinity may choose to have combined advisory meetings. Members of advisory committees should include people employed in the occupation and business or at a supervisory level of that occupation. It is highly recommended that former graduates be included as members of each advisory committee and if possible, a current student.

Program advisory committees must meet at least once during the academic year. Additional meetings may be called, if desired. Each advisory meeting must have minutes taken and a list of the members in attendance. These minutes and an attendee list must be given and kept on file by the Academic Affairs office.
