Are you seeking a career change or career advancement? Get started this summer or fall and fast-track your way to your career goals. With flexible online courses in Business, Retail Management, Healthcare, Cybersecurity, and more, you can get started with as little as one course per semester, on your schedule. If you're looking for a true fast-track, many certificate options can be completed in one semester or less!

If you meet the following requirements, you may be eligible for grant funding to offset some or all of your tuition:

  • Live in Douglas County, MN
  • Make less than $50K/year ($100k/year if married filing jointly)
  • Graduated high school or received GED prior to January 1, 2020

Fast-Track Healthcare Programs

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Training

Delivery: In-Person (July/Aug class will be hybrid)

CNA training and certification is a great entry point into the in-demand field of nursing, and is a prerequisite for the Practical Nursing program. You may qualify for grant funding to offset some or all of your tuition.



Medical Administrative Specialist AAS

Credits to complete: 60
Summer credits offered: 18 (includes suggested liberal arts courses)
Delivery: Online
Offered completely online, the 60-credit Medical Administrative Specialist AAS degree is a fantastic entry point into the healthcare industry. The program prepares you for a variety of health information and administrative support roles. Plus, take three additional courses throughout your education and receive an additional Diploma or Certificate in Medical Coding! You may also qualify for grant funding to offset a portion of your tuition. More information

Fast-Track Business/Technology Programs

Business Management Certificate

Credits to complete: 19
Summer credits offered: 9
Delivery: Online
This certificate is stackable toward a two-year associate degree in Business Management or the Business Transfer Pathway.

Whether you are looking to go to work, further your education, or add business skills, the 19-credit Business Management Certificate is a quick start to the basics of accounting, management, and marketing. You may also qualify for grant funding to offset a portion of your tuition.



Retail Management Certificate

Credits to complete: 26
Summer credits offered: 13
Delivery: Online
This certificate is stackable toward a two-year associate degree in Business Management or the Business Transfer Pathway.

Offered completely online, this 26-credit Retail Management Certificate program is recognized by leading retailers across the nation. The curriculum meets the education requirements of the retail industry and is relevant to all areas of retail and business. You may also qualify for grant funding to offset a portion of your tuition.



Fall Start Business/Technology Programs

This program begins in August, and can be completed in two semesters.

 


 


Fast-Track CDL/Transportation Programs

CDL A or B Training and/or Hazmat Endorsement

Delivery: Hybrid

Note: These courses are intended for those with access to their own vehicles for training and testing. CDL Class A or B courses are available monthly, and a CDL Hazmat Endorsement class is available in July. You may qualify for grant funding to offset some or all of the course cost. More information

Get ahead or back on track

Alexandria College has online summer course options that could help you finish your degree sooner. Consider these course options to complete the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum, reduce the number of credits you need to take next fall, or retake a required course. Courses are open to current Alexandria College students and non-ATCC ("visiting") students. These courses are:

  • Flexible - online asynchronous (anytime) or on-campus hybrid
  • Simple - No application needed, just register
  • Affordable - less than $200 per credit (40% less than most universities!)
  • Transferable - Summer Session courses transfer to all Minnesota State institutions, and may transfer to other universities as well

  • Click the  next to the courses you'd like to register for
  • Click "Continue to Review My Plan" when you are done selecting courses
  • Click the checkboxes next to each course to finalize your selection, and click "Select Course(s) to proceed to Register"
  • Enter your StarID password and click "Register" to complete the registration process
