COVID-19 Protocol Changes

May 19, 2021 | 8:27 AM
Changing guidance from CDC and state government prompts updates to our policies regarding mask wearing and daily health questionnaire.

Following the order by Governor Tim Walz on May 14 to remove the mask mandate, masks will no longer be required to be worn on Alexandria College campus. However, it is recommended that those who are not fully vaccinated continue to wear masks per the CDC. For people who are fully vaccinated and are still uncomfortable not wearing a mask, please continue to wear one.  The requirement to maintain a 6-foot social distance remains for all.  If a situation exists where you cannot maintain the social distance requirement, masks are required.

Employees also will consider the comfort level of guests in deciding whether to wear a mask or not when having one-on-one interactions with the public.

The requirement to complete the Daily Health Check-In questionnaire for employees, students, and campus visitors will end on May 23.

It is expected we all take personal responsibility for the safety of ourselves and others and the college will continue contact tracing COVID-19 cases. If you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or if you are having symptoms of COVID, please report it:

  • Employees should speak to their supervisor and/or Human Resources
  • Students should contact their instructor or advisor

Employees and students are strongly encouraged to get vaccinated.  The Horizon Public Health Vaccine Information link can be found here

Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have aligned to the Governor’s Executive Orders and guidance from CDC, MDH and Minnesota State.  We will continue to use these guidelines as we manage our response to COVID.
