Alexandria Technical and Community College's SkillsUSA students demonstrated the spirit of giving and collaboration through their Change Wars fundraiser, donating $1,149.54 to the Jingle Bells Telethon on December 7, 2024, in Alexandria, Minn.
The school's creative approach of turning friendly competition into generosity highlights how small efforts—like filling coin boxes—can make a significant impact. Students from the college's Carpentry, Diesel Mechanics, Machine Tool Technology, Mechanical Drafting, Mechatronics, Powersports, and Welding all participated in the event.

The Powersports II class, recognized for collecting the most coins per student, won caramel rolls and had their program name engraved on a traveling trophy plaque.

After the competition, the money was collected and presented as a check during the Jingle Bells Telethon by SkillsUSA local officers Thad Anderson and Elijah Haakenson.

The Jingle Bells Telethon raises money to help struggling families over the holiday season.
