Collegiate DECA State Competition Results

Alexandria Technical and Community College students successfully competed at state Collegiate DECA Competition.

Seventeen Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) students competed in the 2026 State DECA competition on February 19-20, 2026 in Willmar, MN. Each student participated in 2 events. Twenty-one times ATCC students were top-8 finalists in their events. Of those, two individuals earned a first-place award, three individuals and four teams earned second place, and one individual earned third place. 

Special honors:

  • Myles Frueh, Lexi Usher and Logan Ewoldt were awarded Outstanding Student Service Awards.
  • Hannah Dahlquist was elected State Vice President for Minnesota Collegiate DECA. 
  • ATCC was the only college awarded the Collegiate DECA Chapter Leadership Passport Award.

  • 2nd Place - Logan Ewoldt (TPAC) and Austin Hegg (ACCT)

Entrepreneurship – Starting a Business 

  • 1st Place – 1st Place – Ella Ross $1000 scholarship award (TPBU) 

Event Planning 

  • 2nd Place – Ella Ross (TPBU) and Maddie Schwerin (BUSM)

Fashion Merchandising 

  • 2nd Place –  Tiara Montez-Bratton  (FASH) 
  • Finalists - Maddie Schwerin (BUSM) and Sienna Sjostrom (FASH)

Financial Accounting 

  • Finalist – Brooklyn McChesney (PSEO)

Financial Statement Analysis 

  • 2nd Place – Austin Hegg (ACCT)

Hotel and Lodging 

  • Finalists – Samantha Haider (MKSM) and Caleb Lind (MKSM)

Marketing Management 

  • Finalists – Marco Novelo (TPBU) and Sienna Sjostrom (FASH)

Restaurant and Food Service 

  • Finalists – Whitney Becker (BUSM), Anna Czech (MKSM) and Marco Novelo (TPBU)

Retail Management 

  • 1st place – Tiara Montez-Bratton (FASH)
  • 3rd Place – Logan Ewoldt (TPAC)

Sports Marketing 

  • 2nd Place – Hanna Dahlquist (BUSM) and Lexi Usher (MKSM)

Travel and Tourism 

  • 2nd Place – Hanna Dahlquist (BUSM)
