How do I access OneDrive?

You can access your OneDrive a few different ways:

  • Sign into MyATCC and click on the Office365 icon. You will see a list of Office applications. Click on the OneDrive icon. Sign in using just your StarID (do not use the @go.minnstate.edu or @minnstate.edu) Example: ab1234cd
  • You can directly to Office365 and sign in using your Minnesota State StarID credentials YourStarID@go.minnstate.edu (students) and YourStarID@minnstate.edu (employees). Example: ab1234cd@go.minnstate.edu

How do I add the app for OneDrive on my mobile device?

  • In your store, search for “Microsoft OneDrive”
  • Install the app
  • Sign into the app using YourStarID@go.minnstate.edu (students) or YourStarID@minnstate.edu (employees)

How do I create a document in the online version of Office365?

  • Sign into MyATCC and click on the Office365 icon. You will see a list of Office applications. Click on the OneDrive icon. Sign in using just your StarID (do not use the @go.minnstate.edu or @minnstate.edu) Example: ab1234cd
  • Click on the application that you want to create a file in (Word, Excel, etc…) to start a new document
  • You will want to name your document by clicking on the name (default name is “Document” and it will let you rename it.

Why do I not see MS Access in my Office 365 landing page?

  • Microsoft Access, Publisher and a few others are not listed in the Office 365 portal-landing page. This is because they are not an online application. In other words, they are not able to be a working document that more than one user can be working in the same document.
  • You can get Access or Publisher by clicking on the down arrow next to “Install Office Apps” icon in your portal-landing page. Choose the “Other install options” and click the “Install” button to begin downloading and installing Office 365 ProPlus.
  • If there are applications you do not see in the installation option or on the portal-landing page, click on the “Explore all your apps” icon for more choices.

How do I share a document with a classmate or coworker?

  • Log into your Office365
  • Click on “OneDrive” in the list and find the document you want to share
  • If there are applications you do not see in the installation option or on the portal-landing page, click on the “Explore all your apps” icon for more choices.
  • Right-click on the document and choose ITDepartment_OneDriveicon when you hover over the name of the document. (If you do not see this icon, move your mouse around then hover back over the document you want to share.
  • Enter the name or email address of the person you want to share the document with.
  • By default, you will be giving them full access to your document. Full access means they will be able to delete or change and modify the document.
  • If you want to change the permissions, click on the 111right-arrow icon and uncheck the “Allow editing” setting. This will give the person “Read-Only” permissions.
  • Click the “Send” button. The recipient will receive an email with a link to the document you want to share with them.

How do I recover a document that I deleted?

  • Log into your Office365 and choose OneDrive
  • On the right side pane, choose the “Recycle bin”
  • Hover over the document you want to restore and check the circle 222
  • At the top, choose the 333icon to restore your file.
  • Click the “Files” option on the right side pane to go back to your list of files and folders.
  • Your document will be recovered back in your list.

  • When you log into your Office365 portal, you will see a drop down button called “Install Office Apps”
  • Click on the second option “Other install options”
  • Click the “Install” button and follow the on-screen instructions

How do I save a file from Brightspace to my OneDrive?

  • Once you download or save the file from Brightspace, go to the “Downloads” area and drag the file into your OneDrive. You will have to be logged into your OneDrive to do this.
  • If you are using a browser that the downloaded file appears at the bottom of the window, click the up arrow and choose the option “Show in folder.” You can drag the file into your OneDrive location. You will need to be logged into your OneDrive to do this.
