Program Focus

The Law Enforcement Associate in Science (AS) degree program is designed for students who wish to transfer after ATCC to a college or university in pursuit of a bachelor's degree. Program curriculum consists of a combination of technical law enforcement and general education courses.

Completion of the AS degree provides for "seamless" transfer of credits to a wide variety of colleges and universities. ATCC has several transfer partners. Information about the most recent transfer agreements can be found at http://www.mntransfer.org. Students are encouraged to work with ATCC transfer specialists to investigate and plan for transfer requirements.

AS program graduates become eligible to take the Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) licensing exam and seek employment. However, students interested in immediately pursuing a law enforcement career, rather than continuing their education following program completion, are strongly encouraged to enroll in the Law Enforcement Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree.
