Alexandria Technical & Community College recently recognized several students who competed at the State SkillsUSA competitions. Students who received top awards are eligible to compete at the National competition in June.
ATCC students delivered an outstanding performance at the State SkillsUSA Competitions held in the Twin Cities this past weekend, earning a total of 55 medals across multiple disciplines. The college brought home 27 first‑place finishes, 12 second‑place awards, and 16 third‑place honors. As a result, 16 students qualified to advance to the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, including one current State Officer and another State Officer also competing at the national level. Those advancing, denoted by double asterisks (**), will represent ATCC at the national competition in Atlanta, Georgia, June 1–6. Students are eligible to compete in only one national contest.
Students enrolled in Carpentry, Diesel Mechanics, Mechatronics, Machine Tool Technology, Marine, Motorcycle & Powersports Technician, Mechanical Drafting, Design & Engineering, and Welding Technology programs were eligible to compete.
SkillsUSA is a nationwide partnership of business and industry, vocational students, and instructors. Its goals are to motivate students, teach leadership skills, assist teachers in producing quality occupations training, and provide quality workers to business and industry.
