Alexandria Technical & Community College awards Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), and DSST credit based on the student earning a satisfactory score. The Registrar’s office will receive the official score reports from the student and once the student is enrolled at the college, will add the credit to the student’s record. Students may refer to the charts linked below for equivalencies or may review their Degree Audit Report (DARS) to view how their credits apply to their academic record.

ATCC also provides opportunities for admitted students to demonstrate college-level learning through nationally recognized exams such as:

  • Thomas Edison College Examination Program (TECEP)
  • Excelsior examinations
  • New York University Foreign Language Proficiency (NYUFLP)
  • *National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI)

*Students must meet a 70% benchmark on an approved college-level NOCTI multiple-choice assessment to be eligible for the college credit recommendation report. Students meeting the benchmark would be able, upon request, to have the report reviewed by the appropriate faculty for possible awarding of elective credit in the following areas:

  • Advanced Accounting
  • Administrative Assisting
  • Computer Network Fundamentals
  • Computer Repair Technology
  • Basic Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Repair
