Employment

Since carpentry is one of the most basic and common trades in society, jobs are found in almost every community. Primary sources of employment are found with residential and commercial contractors, woodworking shops, special construction projects, maintenance shops, cabinet shops, furniture manufacturers, lumber yards, and agricultural building construction.

Carpentry is one of the few trades where the individuals, after a reasonable amount of experience, can go into business for themselves. Working conditions are generally considered good. Pay scales and types of jobs available vary by community.
