Vickie McLain has two decades’ worth of experience in higher education at community/technical colleges and four-year institutions, including University of Minnesota-Duluth and College of St Scholastica, in addition to 14 years of experience as a Systems Administrator and Technology Director. She was instrumental in Alexandria College receiving Center of Academic Excellence – Cyber Defense designation from the National Security Agency (NSA). Vickie has a MA in Educational Technology Leadership from George Washington University and a Bachelor’s degree in Teaching Science for grades 7-12. Vickie has created cybersecurity curriculum and degree programs, as well being a project leader on MN state initiatives for a shared state curriculum.

Vickie also is involved in teaching cybersecurity skills to youth by being a mentor for the CyberPatriot high school program. She has been a Program Director for GenCyber programs for students in grades 7-12 for several years and has been asked by National Security Agency to speak at national GenCyber conferences numerous times.

Vickie joined Alexandria College in 2020. She enjoys teaching everyone cyber safety and helping students reach their career goals in the rewarding field of cybersecurity!
