As the role of police officers continues to evolve in response to changing community needs, it is important that the training and education for peace officers remain up-to-date. In pursuit of this goal, Alexandria Technical and Community College's Police Training and Education program hosted a two-day instructor development course, August 17 to 18, which offered a comprehensive curriculum intended for both novice and experienced trainers.

Each summer, the Law Enforcement Skills program brings students from across the upper Midwest to our campus to learn the hands-on practical skills needed to be a peace officer. This year more than 60 students received their Law Enforcement Skills Certificate.

The Fall 2023 Season begins Tuesday, September 12 and continues Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:45 pm, through October 19.

Nine students from Powersports, Mechanical Drafting, Carpentry, and Machine Tool competed in the SkillsUSA National Competition in Atlanta, GA. All nine finished Top 10 in their events, with four earning medals.

Alexandria Technical & Community College recognizes individual students for academic excellence. The Dean's List includes students who achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher while enrolled as a full-time student (12 credits or more).
